3P, Inc. The Print Productivity Professionals
3P offers one-stop shopping. Many web printers are caught in the middle, facing market demand for shorter runs and quicker delivery while competing in an environment of declining "commodity" pricing for printed products. At the same time their aging equipment usually fails to meet “when-new” production levels and lacks modern time- and waste-saving features.
Operators of the popular Harris-Heidelberg M-series presses (M-90, M-110, M-100, M-200, M-300, M-1000, M-850) and custom machines produced in the approximate ten-year period from the early 1980s through the early 1990s are facing an important decision. If your press is still equipped with the TI PLC-based drive supplied by Harris, there is an increasing possibility of drive failure. Such failures have a way of happening at the worst time and, in this case, callers to Heidelberg or TI will learn that the TI PLCs are no longer supported. Resulting downtime is more likely recorded on a calendar than a clock. In some cases failures can be “patched," but this typically results in serious lost production and degraded drive control flexibility, and does nothing to improve a worsening reliability situation.
In many market
situations “when-new” performance isn’t enough. Perhaps increased
running speed is required but more likely increased make-ready
productivity, fast plate clamps, presets and closed loop quality
control are required to maintain market share and profitability.
We and our strategic partners will show you the way to minimize
pressroom investment and downtime while you build competitive
advantage.
Examples include:
Almost all of the recognized, popular web press models print and fold at quality and productivity levels which meet or exceed modern market requirements. The problem is that years of use and hard knocks have taken their toll. Being competitive today starts with equipment which is predictable, consistent and reliable. Our strategic partners know web press models, in some cases better than the OEM knows its older models. We can help you target your limited investment dollars into rebuilding and enhancements/upgrades which will restore and exceed “when-new” performance. (Click here for more)
Increasingly, print production and work-flow requirements
generate the need for experienced, qualified web press riggers and
installers.
Additional Capacity:
Perhaps the printer needs more capacity, or, within an existing
press, more color or more paging. Perhaps market shifts
require a one-time circumference change. Whatever the
requirement, we have found ways to deliver the additional capacity
with minimum investment.
Examples include additional and/or modified printing units, folders,
sheeters, extended drying, and chill capacity.
Hydrocer™ Clean US is the only cleaner approved for use in America by the manufacturer for MAN Roland Hydrocer™ ceramic dampening rollers. Unless you’re using a cleaner designed for deep cleaning you’ll never get your ceramic dampening rollers to peak performance. And peak performance is what’s required for minimizing make-ready time and spoilage, not to mention printing clean, free of corduroy and other print defects.
Hydrocer™ Clean US is also very effective for analox rollers.
